OUR GUIDES:
If you’ve never been to an under-developed country you are
probably in for a great experience. We have surf guides for two
main reasons: Safety and Fun. The first is a given, like any city
in the world El Salvador has its safe and unsafe places. Our guides
make sure to spend your time in the safe ones. The second reason
is often overlooked when booking a surf trip. Many people just go
on their trip and wake up surf, eat, nap, surf again, sleep again,
and do it all over again. That’s great, we want you to get
as much surf as possible, but here in El Salvador we are famous
for our hospitality and friendliness. Part of the Guide’s
job is to introduce you to the local scene and show what this place
is all about: surfing great waves with great friends.
Vaquero
is the company owner and lead guide. While a native Spanish speaker,
and “local” on the waves of El Salvador, he also speaks
English and can communicate with you in either language.
Other
Guides include:
Israel Molina “Martillo””
Jose Diaz “Bamba”
Jesus Toribio “Chungo”
Your
experienced Sunzal Surf Tours Guide will greet you at the international
airport with a vehicle suitable to the size of your group and will
take care of you throughout your stay in El Salvador. Each day your
guide will give you a wake up call and based on your experience,
conditions and local knowledge he will transport you to the best
break. Sunzal Sourf Tours are totally customized, private surf tours
designed for small groups of 1-6 surfers. All our vehicles have
roof racks which can accommodate up to 6 or more coffin bags. We
also offer boat trips to remote breaks where you can be assured
of surfing in a pristine environment with no crowds. The boat rides
include a 4-5 hour expedition, cold drinks, and warm barrels.

SAFETY:
Concerns are always raised about safety in El
Salvador. El Salvador is a stable democracy that uses the American
Dollar as currency. The people here are among the most welcoming
and friendliest in Central or South America, and overall El Salvador
is a beautiful and magical country with much to offer to those
that travel its coastlines. Like any city in the world, El Salvador
has its safe and unsafe places. Our guides make sure that you
spend your time in the safe ones. Many rumors and exaggerated
accounts have been published about El Salvador and paint a distorted
image of the country. The civil war ended here in 1992 and ever
since, a stable democracy with a growing economy that welcomes
tourism has brought El Salvador to be the Economic leader in Central
America. In one hand, bad rumors about safety here have improved
the surf; exaggerations have largely kept the crowds away and
led tourism booms to Costa Rica while we get to surf epic conditions
with 10-person lineups. There is a good vibe in the water, but
like anywhere, RESPECT THE LOCALS. Would you go to a spot in California
and paddle in front of the 5 hottest locals? No right, well do
the same here, work the lineup in respectful manner, and you will
get the same respect.
